The History
The Cambio De Piel (CDP) project was born in the
summer of 1997 when the two Camacho brothers Alonso(guitar) and Jair(bass)
left their previous Rock en Español covers band and joined up with Rene
Ramos(guitar). In their search for a drummer they found Arturo
Barrera(singer). Arturo did a great job at drumming but in his audition, he
mentioned that he could also sing. Arturo sang one song and that was all it
took for them to realize that they had stumble on to what they thought would
be the most difficult part of completing the band. After additional
auditions, Jesus "Chucho" Ceballos(drums) was added to completing their
puzzle.
Naming the band was not an easy thing to do, but once the name Cambio De
Piel(DCP) was added to the list, it became obvious that the name fit the
band. Cambio de Piel(CDP) translates to "Change of skin", but to the members
it meant many things including closing some chapters in there lives, and
making some positive changes to begin a brand new and exciting chapter which
is now to them this great band.
As CDP began to play, it was apparent that this band had something great
that has been capturing their audience since the first time they set foot on
stage. The band is a pioneer of the "Latin Alternative" movement in
Sacramento California. In its beginning, the band played covers of famous
""Latin Alternative" bands in combination with their own original
compositions. As time went by, their own music was requested more and more
by the audience. It was at that point that the band decided to play only
original material and it was this decision that has allowed the band to
establish a name in Northern California. Since then the band has been able
to share the stage with some of the famous "Latin Alternative" bands that
they once played the music of.
CDP has been able to capture the attention of every person that has heard
them especially in a live setting. This band is so dynamic that they were
able to capture the attention of one of the biggest supporters of music
today. Anheuser Busch-Budweiser has added CDP to the Budweiser True Music
Live Project(BTML). They have picked this band to be the Latino Rock Band
representing Budweiser's support to the Latin Alternative music industry.
The music of CDP is a combination of many different influences. The sound
could be classified as a mix of funk, rock, reggae and pop/rock, but still
maintaining the essence of classic Rock N' Roll. The lyrics are stories and
emotions people can easily relate to and they will keep you singing the
songs over and over.. |
